Various - Sub Pop 100 (1986) (@256)

Now, there is not much to add in my posts from early this year where we celebrated 20 years from the first non-compilation Sub Pop release. Here you can find a Sub Pop compilation where the old as well as the new generation of the company's groups are represented, while here is the company's first non-compilation release.
Mojo's latest issue (n. 177), apart of a (superb) Sub pop article, gives as a premium the compilation 'Sub Pop 300', continuing the company's series of Sub Pop 100 and Sub Pop 200.
Sub Pop 100, which is uploaded here was the first vinyl release of Sub Pop, after nine issues as a fanzine, where six of the volumes where magazines and three where cassettes (the fifth, seventh, and ninth issues).
To dig deeper, apart from Mojo, there are also the relevant articles Sub Pop 20 from Seattle Weekly and Sub Pop turns 20 from Guardian.

P.S.1 What is still not clear to me is in what sense July 1988 is Sub Pop's birthday, when their first release had been back in 1986.
P.S.2 Fleet Foxes is the latest treasure of Sub Pop; their s/t album is already a landmark for 2008. A relevant upload is on the way.
