Buddy Miles - The Best of Buddy Miles (@256)

Another great loss, criminally neglected by this blog (up to now). Buddy Miles was one of the best drummers of the late 60's-early 70's era. Although he is best known as a member of the Electric Flag, for the collaboration with Carlos Santana and most notably as a member of Jimi Hendrix's Band of Gypsys, the work with his group Buddy Miles Express as well as his solo albums should not be overlooked.
The current upload is a retrospective (with the front and back cover reminiscent of his best solo work "Them Changes" and of "A Message To The People" lp respectively) of all three albums he released with the Buddy Miles Express and of the first three (two studio and one live) albums as solo artist. The music is a mixture of funk, Stax soul and psychedelia, with his awesome drumming in the frontline.

P.S. Along with Klaus Dinger (see the related upload here) we count two seminal drummers that left us this year. An appropriate compilation for the (usually) men (usually) at the second row of the stage is on the way.
